100 Club Blues With Pat McManus & JFK Blue 26th Nov

£14.00

It’s fairly safe to say Pat McManus is a legend. And that word is over and misused a lot – but not here. And it’s not often that legends touch down in little venues like 100 Club. If you miss this gig – you might need to ask yourself if you really like music – or is it time to start watching Love Island or whatever is currently being used to anaesthetise our souls!!!

JFK Blue state that their music is rooted in the blues but it gets out and goes for a walk – and they don’t put a leash on it – it goes where it needs to go – and if you follow them – you will get the reward of hearing original intelligent music played with passion and belief. Their songs and performances have been widely praised and likened to Canned Heat, Warren Hayes, Jerry Garcia and many more – it’s easy to see that they are gonna take you on a musical journey – and it’s gonna be worth the trip.

Description

Pat’s first TV appearance was when he was 7. By 14, he was Fiddle Champion of Ireland! By 1981, Pat’s first rock band, Mama’s Boys, had supported every major band to play Ireland and they’d sold thousands of copies of their first LP. England and beyond beckoned. Tours with Wishbone Ash, Thin Lizzy, Rush and more soon followed as Pat made a name for himself and one of THE guitar players of the 80s.

Pat continued to do what he does best in the 90s – playing live, record new music, gaining awards and recognition. After a short spell in exile – bringing up his daughter – but still playing as a sought after session player, Pat came back with a new band and new albums – since 2003 he has toured and recorded consistently. Affirming his status as a genuine guitar hero. There’s not many left like Pat – there may be a lot of imitators – but this is your chance to see an original.

JFK Blue live performances have received great praise – everywhere they go:

JFK Blue are no doubt a force to be reckoned with exciting music played with both gusto and professionalism , it was great to see how they interacted with each other and kept things fresh. Woodlands Blues Club

JFK Blue tore through numbers from their debut album, ‘Rough Round The Edges’ and some new songs. This was, it seemed, a band on a mission….with the frantic pace they set there really was no time for chat or introductions between songs – as one finished they were all ready to launch into the next. It was all over before we had a chance to grab a breath… and once again that queue at the merch stand grew. Tuesday Blues Club
